A Binance.US withdrawal is usually blocked or slow for one of four reasons. The most common is a 7-day hold on money you recently deposited by bank transfer (ACH), debit or credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. The second is a security lock of 48 hours after you change your password, reset 2FA, or update your phone number, or 120 hours after you change your email. The third is wallet maintenance on the coin’s network. The fourth is a problem with your account, such as a negative balance after a deposit failed. Once a USD withdrawal is sent, it takes up to 5 business days.
This guide covers every withdrawal hold Binance.US documents, how to see when yours ends, what to do if a withdrawal is stuck, and how to reach real Binance.US support. It’s based on Binance.US’s help center, fee schedule, and terms, checked on October 2, 2026.
Binance.US withdrawal holds at a glance
| What triggered it | How long withdrawals are locked | What’s locked |
|---|---|---|
| ACH bank deposit, including One-Click Buy from a linked bank | 7 days (168 hours) from when the deposit started | The deposited amount, plus any crypto bought with it |
| Debit or credit card deposit | 7 days | The deposited amount |
| Apple Pay or Google Pay deposit | 7 days | The deposited amount |
| Password change or reset | 48 hours | All withdrawals |
| 2FA reset or new phone number | 48 hours | All withdrawals |
| Email address change | 120 hours (5 days) | All withdrawals |
| A withdrawal flagged as suspicious | Up to 120 hours | That withdrawal |
| A newly added bank account | Up to 24 hours to activate | Withdrawals to that account |
| Wallet maintenance on a network | Until the maintenance ends | That coin on that network |
You can keep trading during every one of these holds. Funds already in your account that aren’t tied to a recent deposit can be withdrawn at any time.
Why is my Binance.US withdrawal on hold?
In Binance.US’s words, “the most common reasons for these restrictions are, recent account changes, new ACH deposits, or negative balances.”
The 7-day hold after ACH, card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay deposits
Bank transfers take days to settle, so Binance.US credits your ACH deposit right away and collects the money from your bank over the next 7 days. Until then, you can’t withdraw the USD amount of that deposit, including the same amount in crypto. Binance.US says the hold exists “to prevent potential chargebacks.” Card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay deposits carry the same 7-day rule.
A few details matter:
- It runs to the minute. The hold lasts 168 hours from when you start the deposit, weekends included. Binance.US’s example: a deposit started at 3:00 p.m. on a Monday unlocks at 3:00 p.m. the following Monday.
- It follows your purchases. Crypto bought with held money is held too, including stablecoins such as USDT.
- It applies to everyone. New and existing users get the same hold, and Binance.US says it “cannot be waived, shortened, or bypassed under any circumstances.”
- Crypto deposits aren’t held. Binance.US credits them after one network confirmation, but you can only withdraw them once the network has fully confirmed them. That usually takes a few minutes, longer when the network is busy.
To work out how much is held, Binance.US says to subtract the total USD value of deposits still on hold from your account’s total USD value.
The security lock after account changes
Binance.US temporarily turns off withdrawals after changes that someone who stole your login might make:
- Password changed or reset: 48 hours.
- 2FA reset: 48 hours, after a reset review that typically takes 48–72 hours.
- Phone number updated: 48 hours.
- Email address changed: 120 hours.
You can still trade, deposit, and use the rest of your account during the lock. Binance.US also says that when it detects a suspicious withdrawal, it suspends it for up to 120 hours.
“Withdrawals suspended due to risk management”
This notice means Binance.US’s payment provider couldn’t collect a deposit from your bank. Common causes are not enough money in the account when the deposit processed, a payment your bank reversed or stopped, or a savings or brokerage account instead of a personal checking account. The result is a negative balance, and Binance.US says chargebacks can disable trading, withdrawals, or deposits.
To fix it:
- Settle the balance by depositing USDT or the USD equivalent. Binance.US doesn’t deduct a negative balance automatically, and other assets must be converted to USD first.
- Send the documents it asks for, usually your latest statement from the bank account you deposited from, and sometimes a video of you holding your ID. Binance.US says it typically reviews them within 24 to 72 hours and emails you when deposits are allowed again.
- Act fast. Binance.US warns that negative balances “may result in asset liquidation in as little as 48 hours.”
To avoid it next time, keep at least 130% of the deposit amount in your bank account when you deposit by ACH, which Binance.US says its payment provider requires.
Other things that block a withdrawal
- Open orders. Funds in an open order can’t be withdrawn until the order fills or you cancel it.
- Staked crypto. Staked coins can’t be withdrawn until unstaking finishes. Binance.US’s examples: Solana (SOL) 2 days, BNB 7 days, Avalanche (AVAX) 14 days, Cosmos (ATOM) 21 days, and Aptos (APT) 30 days. Soft-Staked balances aren’t affected.
- Unfinished identity verification. Binance.US may lock withdrawals until it has your documents; it asks you to open a support chat.
- The crypto withdrawal limit. Crypto withdrawals are capped at $1 million over a rolling 24 hours.
- The wire minimum. You need a balance of at least $100 to withdraw by wire.
- A crypto-only state. In Kansas and Wisconsin, USD deposits and withdrawals are suspended. Binance.US’s workaround is to convert USD to a stablecoin or other crypto and withdraw it on-chain.
- Network maintenance. When a coin’s wallet is under maintenance, the app may say “The current currency is not open for withdrawal,” and the website hides the withdraw button for that network.
How long Binance.US withdrawals take
Binance.US only pays out USD by ACH or wire, not to a card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.
| Withdrawal | Fee | Typical time | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| ACH bank transfer | Free | 1–5 business days | Binance.US says to check your bank after 1–3 business days |
| Wire transfer | $25, plus your bank’s fee | 2–5 business days (another line says 1–3) | Needs a $100 balance; a new wire account shows as pending until approved |
| Crypto | Changes per withdrawal; shown before you confirm | Not published; depends on the network | Fees come out of the amount you send |
Bank holidays add time, and banks don’t process wires on weekends. Crypto withdrawal fees include the blockchain’s network fee plus Binance.US’s own fee, and both are deducted before the coins reach the other wallet.
How to check your Binance.US withdrawal
- Open your history. Go to Wallet → Deposits & Withdrawals and find the withdrawal.
- Confirm the email. Binance.US emails a Withdraw Request Confirmation for crypto withdrawals; click Confirm Withdraw to let it proceed. Check your spam folder.
- Look up the transaction ID. For crypto, tap the withdrawal, copy the TxID, and search it on a block explorer for that network.
- Check for a hold. Under Deposit Management, ACH Lock Status shows Locked while a hold runs, and Unlock Time shows when it ends. That time is in UTC, which is 4 hours ahead of US Eastern daylight time.
- Check the status page. binance.us/status (opens in a new tab) lists each network as Operational, Degraded Performance, Partial Outage, Major Outage, or Under Maintenance.
- For USD, check your bank. Once Binance.US shows the withdrawal as successful, give your bank 1–3 business days before you contact support.
Binance.US doesn’t define its withdrawal statuses in its help center. Its developer documentation lists these stages for crypto withdrawals: email sent, awaiting approval, processing, and completed, plus canceled, rejected, and failure. The app may word them slightly differently.
What to do if your Binance.US withdrawal is pending or on hold
- Match it to a cause using the table above. If it’s a timed hold, the only fix is to wait.
- Free up the funds. Cancel open orders, unstake if needed, and check the $1 million crypto limit.
- Settle any negative balance and send the documents Binance.US asks for.
- If a crypto withdrawal shows as completed and its TxID is confirmed on the blockchain, the coins have left Binance.US. Binance.US says it can’t recover withdrawals, so contact the wallet or exchange that received them.
- If a USD withdrawal hasn’t arrived after the times above, make sure your bank account is fully linked (re-linking it through Plaid can help), then contact support with screenshots of any error.
- If verification is the problem, open a chat with support and provide the documents it requests.
How to contact real Binance.US support
Binance.US supports users mainly through chat. An AI chatbot answers first, and human agents are available 7 days a week, 6 a.m. to midnight Eastern time.
- In the app: tap the profile icon at the top right, tap Get Help, then Send us a message.
- On the website: click the yellow help icon in the lower right corner, even on the login page.
- By phone: Binance.US offers phone support on weekdays, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern. Use only the number on its official contact page (opens in a new tab).
The FTC warns that scammers pay to put fake customer-service numbers in search results, then offer to “resolve” your problem if you send money or gift cards, or ask for personal details or remote access. Binance.US also lets you set an anti-phishing code that appears in its real emails. If you’ve been targeted, see where to report a scam.

Frequently asked questions
How long does Binance.US hold withdrawals after a deposit?
7 days (168 hours) after an ACH, debit or credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay deposit, counted from the moment the deposit starts, weekends included. The hold covers the deposited amount and any crypto you bought with it. Crypto deposits aren't held once the network has fully confirmed them.
Can Binance.US support remove the 7-day hold?
No. Binance.US says the 7-day hold can't be waived, shortened, or bypassed under any circumstances, for new and existing users alike. You can still buy, sell, and trade the funds during the hold.
Why can't I withdraw from Binance.US after changing my password?
Binance.US locks withdrawals for 48 hours after you change or reset your password, reset 2FA, or update your phone number, and for 120 hours after you change your email address. Trading and deposits keep working during the lock.
How long does a Binance.US withdrawal to my bank take?
ACH withdrawals are free and take 1–5 business days, depending on your bank. Wires cost $25; Binance.US says 2–5 business days in one place and 1–3 in another. Bank holidays add time, and banks don't process wires on weekends.
What is the Binance.US daily withdrawal limit?
Crypto withdrawals are capped at $1 million over a rolling 24 hours. USD limits are set per account and shown on your Profile & Limits page, and advanced verification unlocks higher limits.
What does "withdrawals suspended due to risk management" mean on Binance.US?
It means Binance.US's payment provider couldn't collect a deposit from your bank, often because of insufficient funds or a reversed payment, so your account has a negative balance. Settle it by depositing USD or USDT and send the bank statement Binance.US asks for. It says reviews typically take 24 to 72 hours.
Does Binance.US have a customer service phone number?
Yes. Binance.US offers phone support on weekdays, and the number is listed on its own help center. It never calls you or asks you to call a number by text, email, or social media, so treat any other number as a scam.
