Key takeaways
- Standard Uphold withdrawals to a US bank are free and take up to 5 business days, shown in the app as processing. Instant withdrawals cost 1.75% (minimum $1) and need a bank that supports FedNow or RTP.
- Money you deposited by ACH can be traded right away but can't be withdrawn until it settles with your bank, which typically takes up to 5 business days.
- If your bank wasn't linked through Plaid, or the Plaid connection broke, a 65-day restriction may apply to withdrawals anywhere other than your original bank account.
- Crypto withdrawals can't be canceled once confirmed. Most networks charge a flat $0.99 Uphold fee plus the network fee; BTC, XRP, and HBAR withdrawals skip the $0.99.
- Uphold has no general support phone line; live phone help is for California residents only. Treat any "Uphold support number" in search results as a scam.

Standard Uphold withdrawals to a US bank are free but take up to 5 business days, and the app shows them as “processing” the whole time. If you deposited money by ACH recently, it has to settle with your bank before you can withdraw it, which typically takes up to 5 business days, and a 65-day restriction may apply if your bank wasn’t linked through Plaid. Crypto withdrawals wait for Uphold’s compliance checks before they’re sent, then take anywhere from seconds to several hours on the blockchain.
This guide covers Uphold’s withdrawal times, fees, and limits, every hold that can stop a withdrawal, how to check where yours is, and how to contact real Uphold support. It’s based on Uphold’s help center, fee page, and user agreement, checked on October 2, 2026.
Uphold withdrawal times, fees, and limits
| Withdrawal | Fee | Typical time | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard bank transfer (ACH) | Free | Up to 5 business days (“processing”) | $5 minimum; $25,000 a day, $175,000 a week, $700,000 a month |
| Instant bank transfer (FedNow or RTP banks) | 1.75%, minimum $1 | Immediate, or up to 1 business day | Same as ACH |
| Debit card | 1.75%, minimum $1 | Usually minutes, up to 2 days | $10 minimum; $25,000 a day, $175,000 a week, $700,000 a month |
| Apple Pay (iOS and iPadOS 17 or later) | 1.75%, minimum $1 | Usually under 30 minutes, up to 2 days | Same as debit card, counted separately |
| Crypto (Tier 3 assets) | $0.99 plus network fee; no $0.99 on BTC, XRP, or HBAR | Seconds to several hours | Not published |
| Domestic wire | Not published | Not published | Contact Uphold support to request one |
Banks that support instant withdrawals show a ⚡ symbol in the app. Uphold’s pages disagree slightly on timing: its withdrawals page says instant transfers arrive immediately and standard ones take up to 5 business days for any bank, while its fee page says instant transfers take up to 1 business day and standard transfers to banks linked by micro-deposits take up to 2.
Limits reset at midnight UTC: daily limits every day, weekly limits every Monday, and monthly limits on the first of the month. You can’t withdraw to a credit card.
Why your Uphold withdrawal is pending or blocked
Your ACH deposit hasn’t settled yet
Uphold lets you trade money you deposit by ACH right away, but “funds deposited via ACH […] must fully settle with your bank before they can be withdrawn. This typically takes up to 5 business days.” Uphold’s user agreement adds that it tells you at the time of the deposit whether a restriction applies and how long it lasts. During the hold, you can still trade, or convert crypto to USD or a stablecoin to lock in its value, and withdraw once the restriction ends.
The 65-day restriction
If your bank account wasn’t linked through Plaid, or the Plaid connection was lost, Uphold says “a 65-day withdrawal restriction may apply.” You can still withdraw to the original bank account once the money has settled, just not to other destinations, such as a crypto wallet.
A Plaid link can break when you change your bank username or password, when your bank requires you to reauthenticate, or when the connection expires under your bank’s security rules. Uphold prompts you to reconnect on your next ACH deposit.
Uphold is still checking a crypto withdrawal
Uphold says that before it sends a crypto withdrawal on-chain, it “must first successfully complete all necessary preliminary checks and screenings.” Only then is your account debited and the transaction sent to the network. Its user agreement also lets it delay, suspend, or reverse transactions for fraud prevention, sanctions screening, or anti-money-laundering review.
The receiving exchange needs Travel Rule information
When you withdraw crypto to another exchange, Uphold may ask for the recipient’s details, such as their name, and share them with the receiving platform. US rules (the “Travel Rule”) require this kind of information for transfers of $3,000 or more. If the receiving exchange doesn’t comply, the withdrawal can fail; Uphold suggests sending to a different exchange or to a self-hosted wallet instead.
A network problem
Blockchain delays and Uphold outages can hold up withdrawals. Recent examples on Uphold’s status page include a crypto deposit and withdrawal disruption on July 23, 2026, a Base network problem on June 25, 2026, and Ethereum delays on March 26, 2026. Check status.uphold.com (opens in a new tab) before you contact support.
You’re in New York
Uphold restricts crypto purchases and transfers while you’re physically in New York State, even if you live elsewhere. Selling crypto for US dollars still works. Once your connection shows you outside New York, everything comes back automatically.
Other reasons
- You hit a limit. See the table above.
- The fee is bigger than the withdrawal. Uphold won’t process it. Use the Max button, which calculates fees for you and avoids failed transactions.
- The asset can’t leave Uphold. Only Tier 3 assets can be withdrawn to external wallets.
- Your account is restricted. See Uphold account restricted.
How to check an Uphold withdrawal
- Open your activity. Tap the Account Center icon at the top left, then Activity, and find the withdrawal under Past Transactions.
- For a bank withdrawal, “processing” is normal for up to 5 business days. Bank holidays don’t count as business days.
- For crypto, copy the transaction hash and look it up on a block explorer. Uphold counts a withdrawal as executed once it’s in the first available block.
- Check status.uphold.com (opens in a new tab) for problems with deposits and withdrawals or a specific network.
- Open a support ticket through Help → My Tickets in the app if it’s past the normal time. Don’t open a second ticket for the same problem; Uphold says that causes delays.
Can you cancel an Uphold withdrawal?
No. Uphold says that once you confirm a transfer, “you will not be able to change, modify, edit, or cancel the confirmed transfer order.” Its user agreement adds that you can’t withdraw consent for a pending transaction and that transfers off the platform “cannot be cancelled or reversed,” apart from some ACH transfers. For XRP and Stellar withdrawals, include the destination tag or memo the receiving platform asks for; Uphold warns that leaving it out can cause delays or lost funds.
Uphold crypto withdrawal fees
On top of the flat $0.99 Uphold fee (not charged on the BTC, XRP, or HBAR networks), each withdrawal pays a network fee. Uphold’s listed network fees include:
| Network | Network fee |
|---|---|
| Bitcoin | 0.00004 BTC |
| Ethereum (ETH and ERC-20 tokens) | Variable |
| Solana (SOL and SPL tokens) | Variable |
| XRP Ledger | 0.001 XRP |
| Stellar | 0.1 XLM |
| Litecoin | 0.0008 LTC |
| Dogecoin | 1 DOGE |
| Tron | 1 TRX or 3.75 USDT |
| Polygon | 0.1 POL, 0.15 USDC, or 0.15 USDT |
| Base | 0.00005 ETH or 0.1 USDC |
| Arbitrum | 0.00005 ETH, 0.05 USDC, or 0.1 USDT |
If your Uphold bank withdrawal is wrong or missing
Uphold’s electronic fund transfer agreement gives you rights for errors on US dollar transfers. Tell Uphold within 60 days of the first statement showing the problem. It says it will decide whether there was an error within 10 business days, or take up to 45 days if it needs more time and credit your account in the meantime, and report the results within 3 business days of finishing.
Uphold says it responds to support requests within 24 hours and usually in under 12, though a reply isn’t the same as a resolution.
Don’t search Google for Uphold’s website; bookmark uphold.com or type it yourself. If you’ve been targeted, see where to report a scam.

Frequently asked questions
How long does an Uphold withdrawal take?
Standard withdrawals to a linked US bank take up to 5 business days. Instant bank withdrawals arrive immediately on one Uphold page and within 1 business day on another. Debit card withdrawals usually take minutes, Apple Pay under 30 minutes (both up to 2 days), and crypto withdrawals anywhere from seconds to several hours.
Why is my Uphold withdrawal still processing?
"Processing" is the status Uphold shows for standard bank withdrawals, which take up to 5 business days. For crypto, Uphold must finish compliance checks and screenings before it sends the withdrawal to the network, and network delays or a Travel Rule request can add time.
What is Uphold's 65-day hold?
If your bank account wasn't linked through Plaid, or the Plaid connection was lost, Uphold may restrict withdrawals for 65 days. You can still withdraw to the original bank account once your deposit settles, just not to other destinations.
How much does Uphold charge to withdraw?
Standard ACH bank withdrawals are free. Instant bank, debit card, and Apple Pay withdrawals cost 1.75% with a $1 minimum. Crypto withdrawals cost a flat $0.99 plus the blockchain's network fee, except on the BTC, XRP, and HBAR networks, which pay only the network fee.
What are Uphold's withdrawal limits?
For US bank (ACH) withdrawals: $5 minimum, up to $25,000 a day, $175,000 a week, and $700,000 a month. Debit card and Apple Pay withdrawals have the same maximums, each counted separately, with a $10 minimum. Limits reset at midnight UTC.
Can I cancel an Uphold withdrawal?
No. Uphold says once you confirm a transfer, you can't change, edit, or cancel it, and its user agreement says you can't withdraw consent for a pending transaction. Crypto sent off the platform can't be reversed.
Does Uphold have a customer service phone number?
Only for California residents, who can call a live support line on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific; the number is on Uphold's help center. Everyone else contacts Uphold through Help → My Tickets in the app or the webforms on support.uphold.com.
